Building on the success of last year’s G20 Global Business Challenge, (part of the lead up program to the G20 Leaders Summit hosted by Australia in 2014), the 2015 Global Business Challenge (2015GBC) is a graduate business case competition to design sustainable solutions to global problems.
“The Challenge for the 2015GBC is to design sustainable solutions to aid the achievement of global food security through the doubling of food production by 2040”. Wiley is a proud Commercial Partner to the 2015GBC including participation in the preliminary and final judging panels as well as providing the “Genesis prize presented by Wiley” to the value of $100,000.
Last year Wiley’s Managing Director, Tom Wiley was honored to be a judge on the finalist panel and will again sit on the final round judging panel in 2015. This year, Wiley’s Brandon Miller, Kate Peardon and Steve Christie will also take part as preliminary judges for the 2015GBC.
The 2015GBC Genesis prize presented by Wiley will be in-kind professional services. The prize is to assist one or more of the finalists with the commercial progression of their proposed solutions.
A unique design of the 2015 Global Business Challenge is that it encourages collaboration between business schools, universities, the research community as well as industry – irrespective of their location – in formulating proposed solutions to address the challenge. This means flexibility in team composition as well as the inclusion of multiple proposed technological solutions from any technology provider.
We wish all the Teams the best of luck and look forward to being a part of this fantastic competition.
